FAQ

Frequently asked questions

How do I install Auric?

Download the .dmg from the Download page, open it, drag Auric to Applications, and launch. Auric is Apple-notarized, so macOS just shows a one-time ‘downloaded from the Internet’ confirmation — click Open.

My trial expired. How do I unlock?

Purchase from the Pricing page. You’ll receive a license key by email immediately. Enter it in Auric → License screen. Your library and settings are preserved.

I didn’t receive my license key after purchase.

Check your spam folder first. Then open your Gumroad library for instant self-service re-download. Alternatively use the key resend form or email hello@easbystudios.com.

How do I move Auric to a new Mac?

Just install Auric on the new Mac and paste your license key — activation is offline and your key is portable across the machines you personally work on. Lost the key? Grab it from your Gumroad library or email hello@easbystudios.com with your order number.

Auric says “damaged or from unidentified developer”.

Auric is Developer ID-signed and Apple-notarized, so it normally opens after a one-time ‘downloaded from the Internet’ confirmation — just click Open. If it’s still blocked (offline on first launch, or an older macOS): right-click the app → Open, or System Settings → Privacy & Security → Open Anyway. One-time step.

How do I add my sample library?

Drag one or more folders onto the Auric window. Auric scans recursively and indexes all supported formats. Analysis (BPM, key, MFCC, sound class) runs in the background automatically — only new or changed files are re-analysed on next launch.

How do I get samples into my DAW?

Drag any sample (or a multi-selection) straight from Auric onto a track in Pro Tools, Logic, Ableton, or any DAW that accepts a file drop. Auric renders a temp WAV with your current pitch, gain, and selection applied before the drag begins — no plug-in required.

What is Create Variation?

Create Variation is a planned capability for a future update — it is not in the current release. As designed, you’ll right-click any sample → Create Variation, pick Amount (1–10), Count (1/2/4/8), and an optional style prompt, and variants render locally on your Mac — no cloud, nothing uploaded. It is not part of the v1.0 Standard feature set.

Can I request a refund?

Yes — 14-day refund window from purchase date. Email hello@easbystudios.com with your order number. No questions asked. Processed within 5 business days.
